John Koltai is a multidisciplinary Creative Director with a focus on design and animation for film and television. After graduating from Parsons School of Design, John soon began a career in New York City crafting high-end motion graphics for commercial, film, and UI clients.  John is known as a highly skilled creative able to craft memorable visuals.

John's passion for film has led him to design cinematic opening titles for Marvel films “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Thor: Tales of Asgard,” and “Planet Hulk,” among others.  He created the holographic UI designs that appear in feature film hits such as “Iron Man 2,” “Iron Man 3,” “The Avengers,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Ant-Man,” “Thor: Ragnarok,” “Men In Black 3,” “RoboCop,” and “Spider-Man: Far From Home.”

John has worked at leading design studios in both New York and Los Angeles including The Mill, Method Studios, MPC, Smoke & Mirrors, ESI, Loyal Kaspar, Leroy and Clarkson, Imaginary Forces, Perception, Cantina Creative, Mixtape Club, and Blue Sky Studios. He has had work featured in leading industry outlets such as Motionographer, STASH Magazine, Gizmodo, Promax/BDA, Pushing Pixels, Communication Arts, and Create Magazine.

Most recently John was the lead motion design director at Blue Sky Studios on their latest feature “Spies In Disguise,” Art Director/Episode Lead on the Netflix show “Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj,” and Art Director at Scarab Digital.  While at Scarab Digital, John designed and animated FUI's for a variety of DC shows including “Batwoman,” “Supergirl,” “Superman & Louis,” “Legends of Tomorrow,” “Flash,” and “Peacemaker.”

John also recently collaborated with Taiwanese-American painter James Jean on the NFT drop of “The Editor.”  This was the inaugural drop from NFT platform LGND and fetched over $100k.
